The Barwick & Stoford Friends of the School Association is an active group of parents, staff and Governors from the school. We aim to raise funds to support the school. All parents with children attending the school are automatically members and are encouraged to take an interest and active part in the association. It is a great way to get involved with your child’s school, meet other parents and socialise!
The Committee is elected at the Annual General Meeting which is held at the beginning of the school academic year. The Committee then meet every couple of months to plan and organise events. Many parents who are not able to commit themselves regularly, help at various events and we are grateful for their support. The FOS is a key part of our school community and in its time the FOS has raised many thousands of pounds, which has been spent on buying equipment and improving resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in school as well treating the children to day trips and special visitors.
The FOS exists to provide closer links between home and school, and it is an excellent way to bring staff, parents and friends together socially in support of the school working towards a common goal. Funds are raised through a variety of events and activities. There are some key events throughout the year, as well as discos, weekly tuck shop, cake sales, Movie Nights, Christmas events and much more. We are always open to new ideas, so please do let us know if you have an idea we can try. We send out messages via ParentPay and display posters about key events and also have an information section in the newsletter.
