What is the Sports Premium?

The government is providing money for new and substantial primary school sport funding. The funding is being jointly provided by the Departments for Education, Health and Culture, Media and Sport, and will see money going directly to primary schools to spend on improving the quality of sport and PE for all their children. The money can only be spent on sport and PE provision in schools.

Here at Barwick & Stoford CP School we aim to spend our funding providing equipment and high quality coaching and competitive opportunities for our children. The money is invested in curricular and extra-curricular coaching, this also provides professional development opportunities for our staff to enhance their own coaching skills. We plan our curriculum carefully so that children develop a range of skills and become physically literate but we also encourage them to access a range of different sporting activities both within school and outside.
